My first ever bikini competition

"If you'd have said 17 months ago after going to @bodypowerexpo 2015 with college that I would be doing my first ever bikini competition this weekend I would have laughed in your face and told you to walk the other way. In fact if you told me 10 months ago I would have done the same!

I can't explain to you how much that expo has changed my life for the better! Mentally and physically!



Staying focused through the doubt

"I had to lean up just a tad for the show, everyone has a story and a background behind them, it's how we embrace it to overcome our fears... It's often difficult just gaining the courage to take a picture of what I currently look like, let alone posting it online or going in front of a panel of judges!"

"I didn't place in the bikini competition but I enjoyed every minute on stage! For me,  stepping on stage was my biggest fear of all time showing literally everyone my flaws that I've been battling with for over a year now. As stupid as it sounds I've never worn a bikini before until getting ready for this comp."

"I've never felt confident in my own skin to go swimming or on holiday. So for me to step on stage in front of everyone was frig*in crazy I know but there was no other option really but to do it. Thank you everyone for the good luck wishes it really helped me to stay focused and push through the doubt. I mean every word when I say I really do appreciate it ??"

Update: In June earlier this year, Jade placed 3rd in the Junior Bikini UKBFF Julian Feinstein Classic and received an invitation to compete in the British Finals. Just goes to show what can be achieved when you never give up.

Best advice

"It's not always about the weight it's about the mind to muscle contraction! Firing up the glutes with my wide stance smith machine squat pulses: Pulse for 3 and then one full rep squeezing the glutes. I do warm up sets on lightweights."
